CHICAGO —  A person is in custody following an investigation of a “suspicious object” that was dropped into a mailbox in Logan Square Wednesday, police said.

Police determined the object was not dangerous and was apparently “narcotics-related.”

A police bomb and arson unit squad and a fire department hazardous materials team responded to the scene just after 10:30 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Fullerton Avenue. SkyCam9 flew over the scene, and authorities could be seen using a robot.

The investigation caused street closures and CTA buses to be rerouted. Streets reopened just after 1:30 p.m.

No other information was provided.
