SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- One of the suspects in the deadly mass shooting in San Bernardino, California that killed 14 people and wounded 17 others had ties to Illinois.

Authorities identified the shooters as 28-year-old Syed Farook and his wife or girlfriend 27-year-old Tashfeen Malik.

Farook was born in Illinois.  The couple also has a 6-month-old daughter.

Authorities say these were the only two suspects involved and both are now dead.

Farook worked for the health department which was holding the holiday banquet where the shooting happened.

Farook was at the party before he left angry.

Investigators say he returned, with Malik, and gunned down the crowd in the banquet hall.

Police caught up with them four hours later.
