CHICAGO — Chicago police say the have a man in custody suspected of robbing several stores at knife point.
Police say the suspect was arrested Wednesday afternoon.
“The robbery suspect was apprehended after being identified as a robbery offender responsible for committing numerous robberies of small businesses across the city of Chicago and western suburbs while armed with a knife,” a statement from Chicago police said.
The Blues Jean Bar in the 2200 block of North Halsted was robbed on June 1st. In that incident, the suspect pretended to pay for an item and when the clerk opened the register, the suspect pulled a knife and demanded cash.
On May 13, there was a similar crime at women’s clothing store Londo Mondo just one block from The Blues Jean Bar.
And on May 6th, police suspect the same man may have also hit the Green Goddess boutique in buck town along North Damen was the target. But this time the female clerk fought back. She got more than a dozen stitches in her hand when she grabbed the robber’s knife.
No charges have been filed.
