Store clerk missing after possible robbery at Elmhurst gas station

ELMHURST, Ill. — Police in Elmhurst are searching for the robber who held up the Shell gas station at 654 W. North Ave.

Police said they were called to the station at about 5 a.m. Tuesday for a well-being check on a clerk who was missing from the station. The clerk was not at the station when police arrived.

Police have identified the clerk as 21-year-old Simone Boyd.

She is 5-feet tall and weighs 170 pounds. She has black hair and was last seen wearing a green short-sleeve polo shirt and black pants, police said.

Investigators are said to have a good lead on the identity of the robber but for now, they’re not releasing the store’s surveillance video.
