TINLEY PARK, Ill. — Tuesday marks eight years since the massacre at a Lane Bryant store in Tinley Park.
But, despite the passage of time, relatives of the victims say their hopes haven’t dimmed that the gunman will be found.
Five women were shot to death inside the store, in what was initially intended to be a robbery. They are store manager Rhoda McFarland, 42, of Joliet; Jennifer Bishop, 34, of South Bend, Ind.; Sarah Szafranski, 22, of Oak Forest; Connie Woolfolk, 37, of Flossmoor; and Carrie Hudek Chiuso, 33, of Frankfort.
A sixth woman, also a store employee, suffered a gunshot wound to the neck but survived and was able to provide police with a description of the killer.
Since the mass shooting, investigators say they have received 7,000 leads and continue to get tips.
So far, no one has been arrested.
