We want to give an update on an organization we recently featured on Chicago’s Very Own.

“Options for Youth” is the latest victim of the budget stalemate in Springfield.

The program, which is currently helping 150 teenage mothers and their babies, just learned it will not receive state funding in 2016. Additionally, they’ve had to lay off several staff members.

“Options for Youth” founder Pat Mosena tells WGN she is devastated, and did not see this coming.

She is looking for donations to keep the organization afloat.
