Bouncer dead, man wounded after shooting outside River North nightclub

CHICAGO — One man was killed and another wounded after a fight led to a shooting outside a River North nightclub.

Police were still searching for suspects Friday night and combing through surveillance footage.

The shooting happened just after midnight Friday in the 600 block of North Franklin Street, outside Sound Bar.

According to the Chicago Police Department, about 15 people were involved in a large fight when someone opened fire.

A bouncer at Sound Bar was shot multiple times. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 1 a.m. Friday. He has been identified as 28-year-old Thurman Bailey.

A second man, 58, was shot in the leg and arm, police said. His condition had stabilized.

No one was in custody.

Detectives are investigating.
