Winter storm watch goes into effect 6 a.m. Monday for areas north and west of Chicago. Cloudy with some a.m. showers, especially south of the city, tapering off to sprinkles and ending by late morning. Gradually turning colder with steady or slowly falling temps after highs in the upper 30s as NNE winds increase to 20-30 mph with higher gusts. Cloudy overnight with sleet or freezing rain beginning by daybreak. Becoming very windy.

Freezing rain/sleet west and north of Chicago and rain/freezing rain elsewhere.
Very windy with east winds 30-45 mph causing lakeshore flooding. Icing ends by afternoon as temps climb above freezing.
Windy and colder with some rain or snow showers in the morning and snow showers in the afternoon
Gusty west winds 20-30 mph.
