SKOKIE, Ill. — Four families were displaced Sunday after a Christmas tree caught fire in a Skokie apartment complex on New Year’s Eve.

The fire broke out around midnight in the 8300 block of North Kilpatrick when a Christmas tree caught fire. The fire spread and four apartments were damaged.

Authorities said one fire fighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

No residents were injured.
