Police investigate report of shooting on I-57 in Markham

MARKHAM, Ill. — State police are investigating reports of a shooting on I-57 during Tuesday’s evening commute.

Northbound lanes of I-57 were shutdown between 159th Street and 147th Street while police investigated. Lanes reopened around 6 p.m.

According to state police, Oak Lawn police were notified of a possible victim in the shooting who reported to a local hospital. The victim told police the shooting occurred on the expressway.

No other information was provided.
