Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White not running for re-election

CHICAGO — After a record-breaking five terms as Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White announced today he will not run for re-election.

White was first elected Secretary of State in 1998.

He will continue to work with the Jesse White Tumbling Team he founded in 1959.

White also served as Cook County recorder of deeds and represented the 13th District in the Illinois General Assembly for 16-years.
