CHICAGO – Divers located another body in the Chicago River sanitary and ship canal in the search for a group of missing boaters.

Chicago police divers pulled a second body from the water around 3 p.m. The victim is a man in his 20s but has not yet been officially identified. The remains were taken to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The body of 32-year-old Elmer Jimenez was recovered three miles from where a damaged and overturned boat was discovered in the canal near the southwest suburb of Forest View Wednesday.

It is believed the boat crashed either into a barge or a bridge abutment, then quickly sank.

The search for the two others is focused on the canal between California Avenue and Cicero Avenue. Searchers are using sonar to scan the water.

Raul Cazarez Jr. is one of the two men still unrecovered. His relatives said they’re hopeful his body is found soon so they can give him a proper burial.
