UPDATE: 17 year old Eric Johnson was discovered safe at a friend's home in Paxton, IL.

A hearing-impaired student is missing tonight in the far western suburbs.

Eric Johnson of Montgomery, was last seen on Wednesday on his 17th birthday.

Johnson is a junior at Burlington Central High School, where he’s a member of the cross country team.

Johnson's mother says her son is responsible for getting to school on time, and disappearing like this is unlike him.

However, Johnson never got on his school bus Thursday, and never showed up for class.

His parents say his cell phone and house keys are both missing along with a new X-Box he got for his birthday.

Left behind is his book bag, wallet, and school ID.

Officials are investigating, but don’t believe foul play is involved.

Detectives do have Johnson's computer to look for any leads into his disappearance.
