A convicted murderer, who broke out of a prison in Michigan, is back in custody after his capture in northern Indiana.

Michael Elliot was serving time for killing four people in 1993, when he escaped Sunday from the Ionia Correctional Center.

A woman says he carjacked her and forced her to drive to Indiana.

When they stopped for gas, she locked herself in a restroom and called 9-1-1.

The kidnapper fled the gas station alone, ditched the woman’s stolen Jeep and then stole another car.

When a sheriff’s deputy spotted that car, police chased Elliot, and caught him.
