CHICAGO — A school bus carrying students on a field trip caught on fire on South Ashland Avenue.

The engine of the bus burst into flames.

The driver says he saw smoke coming out of the engine, and immediately pulled over.

You can see the damage, the bus and engine compartment just gutted.

Firefighters quickly   put out the flames.

All of the students were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.

A witness says the school bus aide did an amazing job of keeping the children calm, and getting them all out safely.
