CHICAGO — Three teenagers accused of robbing and beating a man on the CTA Green Line are in police custody.  They’re expected to appear in Juvenile Court today.

The incident happened shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday at the 35th Street station, near State Street.

The 19-year-old man told police he was confronted by three males, hit several times and ordered to hand over his wallet and cell phone.

He says all three of his attackers wore hoodies, one wore a mask.

He was injured, but not seriously enough to require hospitalization.

The three teens took off, but they were found a short time later and detained by public safety officers from the Illinois Institute of Technology.  Chicago police then arrested the suspects.

All were charged with felony robbery, and one teen was charged with battery.

By police accounts, there have been nine robberies in the area since October.
