RIO DE JANEIRO — The last of four disgraced American swimmers will have to pay to leave Brazil.
According to his lawyer, Jimmy Feigen has agreed to make an $11,000 donation, to avoid prosecution.
The money will go to a Brazilian charity called “Reaction Institute.”
The U.S. Olympic Committee has apologized for teammate Ryan Lochte’s phony claim that he and three teammates were robbed in Rio by men in police uniforms.
“The behavior of these athletes is not acceptable, nor does it represent the values of Team USA or the conduct of the vast majority of its member,” said USOC CEO Scott Blackmun.
Surveillance video showed the athletes, all drunk, kicking down the door of a gas station.
Lochte left the country; two teammates were interrogated before they could leave.
Feigan is the final swimmer still in Rio.
