CHICAGO-- A day after the Pilsen restaurant Nuevo Leon went up in flames, a neighbor is offering to help out.

Owners and workers from Fabulous Freddies in nearby Bridgeport have reached out to the staff at Nuevo Leon.

Fabulous Freddies experienced a major fire in 2011 and it took months to get the restaurant back up and running.  They understand what the Nuevo Leon is going through.

Christie Bertucci-Vega of Fabulous Freddies  said, “Their situation is probably worse because it's around Christmas time.  Ours was in March.  It’s the worst time of year, everyone's working more at this time. So I just said send some employees over here, you know, so we could give them some work.”

Several employees took her up on that offer and are getting trained this week.
