CHICAGO — DePaul University has received multiple reports of a noose found on its Lincoln Park campus, according to a campus alert.

“Late this afternoon we received multiple reports that a noose – a horrific symbol of racist intimidation – was found on the Lincoln Park campus,” the alert read.

Students say it was hanging from the Sanctuary Hall dorm entrance.

A photo featuring a rope on a sidewalk has been circulating among students on social media.

DePaul released a campus-wide alert, saying that the matter is under investigation.

Anyone who is found to be responsible will be held accountable.
