Police investigate shooting at Hooters in Lansing

LANSING, Ill. — Police are investigating a shooting that happened in the parking lot of a Hooters restaurant in Lansing.

The shooting started just before 10 p.m. Thursday at 17060 Torrence Ave. Police said someone opened fire on two people as they exited the restaurant. One of the people exiting the restaurant, who has a permit to carry a weapon, returned fire.

Police said the offender then fled in a silver vehicle.

A woman told investigators she heard at least six shots as she grabbed her baby and rushed out of the building. There were also shell casings in the parking lot.

No one was injured in the shooting, and police believe it was an isolated incident.

The investigation is on-going.
