CHICAGO – Police are questioning a relative in connection with the deaths of a mother and her adult son, who were found inside their home on the city’s Southwest side.

Firefighters were called to the home at 55th and Lawndale on Thursday afternoon.

They found 22-year-old Carlos Herrera stabbed to death.

His 48-year-old mother, Maria Concepcion, was found dead.  She was bloody, with her legs tied up.

Police believe their attacker killed them, then set the home on fire to cover it up.

No charges have been filed.
