Kurdish family stuck in Moscow airport for over 50 days

When a Kurdish family of six fled Syria to escape the civil war, they thought they would resettle in Russia, where they had relatives.

But someone sold them fake visas, so Russia won’t let them in.

For the past 50 days, they’ve been stuck in a corner at the Moscow airport; they had to rope off the corner, so no one would steal their belongings.

They get food from UNICEF and the use of a hotel room at night; but until their lawyer untangles their immigration status, they’re stuck there.
