Just two days before the official start of spring, and Chicagoans are seeing a wintery mess on the streets.

On Chicago’s South Side, a Pace van leased to a south suburban center for people with disabilities crashed into a tree.

It happened in the 11400 block of South May Street Monday morning. Nine people total were injured and three of them were taken to the hospital.

Area residents say the roads were icy due to Monday morning’s weather conditions — snow, rain and sleet.
