SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The woman in charge of the state’s child care program is being reassigned from her post by Governor Rauner’s administration.

The move comes one week after Linda Saterfield testified before lawmakers.

She said Rauner’s budget cuts to child care assistance would be “devastating” for families that rely on it.

The Rauner administration said the move was for “internal personnel reasons” and not in retaliation for Saterfield’s comments.

She is now the associate director of an office that helps vulnerable adults which is considered a lateral move.
