Three young siblings are nearly abducted as they walked to school on the South Side Friday morning.

It happened near Washington Park Charter Middle School at 61st and Indiana around 7:10 a.m.
The siblings, ages five, six, and nine, were walking to school when a man with a gun jumped out from a white van, and chased them. The man eventually gave up, and the kids made it to school safely.

“He raised his window down saying ‘help, help.’ So, they started running towards the school and my daughter told me that he got out of the car and started chasing them. He had a black gun on the side of him,” said Crystal Phillips, mother of the three kids.

No arrests have been made in this case.

Just last week, there was another attempted, child abduction near the same school and around the same time. A 10 year-old boy was targeted. Police did make an arrest.
