CHICAGO — There were 18 Chicago aldermanic races that went to a runoff — 12 of those races involved incumbent aldermen — and many of them have been voted out.

In the 7th Ward, Ald. Natashia Holmes lost to Gregory Mitchell. In the 18th Ward, Lona Lane lost her City Council seat to Derrick Curtis.

In the 29th Ward, Ald. Deborah Graham is losing a tight race against Chris Taliaferro. In the 31st Ward, Ray Suarez is losing to Milly Santiago.

In the 41st Ward, Ald. Mary O’Connor is losing to Anthony Napolitano.

In the 10th Ward, with most of the vote counted, the two candidates are separated by only a few votes.

In the 45th Ward, Ald. John Arena survived a rough runoff against Chicago police lieutenant John Garrido.

In the 11th Ward, which includes the South Side’s Bridgeport neighborhood, a familiar name picks up a win: Patrick Daley Thompson beat out John Kozlar. Thompson is the grandson of the late mayor Richard J. Daley, and the nephew of former mayor Richard M. Daley.
