Governor Bruce Rauner says to fix Illinois’s “financial crisis,” he wants to create “right-to-work” zones in Illinois — local counties or municipalities where workers can choose whether or not they want to join a union.

Rauner says it will attract companies and create jobs. Opponents say it will drive down wages.

Rauner faces a Democratic super majority in the legislature, and even some Republicans who oppose the plan.

But Governor Rauner says he’s ready to put his plan into motion.
