CHICAGO -- Both mayoral candidates cast their early ballots Thursday.
Early voting for Chicago’s mayoral runoff contest is double that of votes cast during the early voting period in February.
Mayoral Rahm Emanuel did so downtown at the Chicago Board of Elections.
Challenger Jesus "Chuy" Garcia along with his wife voted in their Little Village neighborhood.
So far, more than 100,000 voters have taken advantage of early voting in the heated race.
Garcia also picked-up the endorsement today of 5th Ward alderman Leslie Hairston who has often clashed with the mayor.
If you want to vote early, keep in mind Saturday is the last day to do so no matter what voting district you reside in Illinois, as there are many races around the Chicago area on Tuesday.
