Police seek suspect after woman sexually assaulted in Wicker Park

CHICAGO -- Chicago police are looking for a man they say sexually assaulted a woman in the Wicker Park neighborhood early this morning.

Police say a 25-year-old woman was walking in the 1700 block of W Pierce Av e just west of Paulina St just before 2 a.m.

Police say while walking on the street, a man she didn't know approached her then threw her to the ground and sexually assaulted her near an alley.

Police say at some point during the assault, she cried out for help and the suspect ran away.

She was taken to St. Mary hospital in stable condition.

Police have not yet released a description of the man they're looking for.
