Police are trying to find the driver of the car that hit and killed an elderly man on the South Side on the man’s birthday.

77-year-old Arthur Johnson was crossing the intersection at 83rd and Racine Wednesday morning when he was hit by a car and killed.

Family members say Johnson was taking the same walk he did every day.

He was on his way to buy his morning paper. Except this time, he didn’t make it.

Witnesses were able to get a good description of the car.

Police are looking for black Mercedes C230 made between 2002-2005.

They say it has damage to its passenger-side windshield and driver-side hood.

If you know anything about this accident, call police.
