ELYRIA, Ohio — An Ohio couple is facing charges after allegedly leaving their baby alone in a McDonald’s.

Fox 8 reports the mother, 22-year-old Rachel Jaajaa, was at the Elyria McDonalds and asked a coworker for a ride home from work. The two were approached by the baby’s father 29-year-old Aaron Tate as they were leaving. Tate was carrying the infant in a car seat.

The coworker reports that Jaajaa refused to take the baby because she had plans and because it was the father’s “turn to have the baby.” Jaajaa got into the car.

Reports state that Tate carried the baby into the restaurant and placed the car seat on the floor before walking out. He then got into his vehicle and drove away, according to Fox 8.

A McDonald’s patron called 911 after seeing the baby was left alone.

Jaajaa and Tate became involved in an argument in a nearby intersection, where they were eventually arrested by police.

Both Jaajaa and Tate now face child endangering charges. The baby is in the care of family members.
