Police mistakenly surround a Park Forest home after a prank call

Park Forest police surround a home late Friday night in response to a report of a shooting, which turned out to be a prank.

Authorities said a man called and reported he shot his mother in the 400 block of Shabbona drive. Officers surrounded the home for hours before determining no one was there.

They later located the residents who were unharmed. They’re trying to find the person who made the false report.
