Bail was set at $100,000 Monday for a 20-year old man accused of pulling on 4-month-old son’s leg to stop his crying.

Authorities say Manual Lopez pulled the boy’s leg until it popped, to get him to stop crying. Lopez is charged with two counts of felony aggravated battery to a child.

The infant was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital Saturday.  Police were called when doctors discovered the injuries.

Police say Lopez admitted to hurting the baby.

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is investigating. They have not had prior contact with the family.
