PROVO, Utah — A plea deal could be in the works in the case against a Utah mother accused of killing six of her newborn babies.
39-year-old Megan Huntsman was back in court Monday morning.
She faces six counts of murder in the deaths discovered by her estranged husband while cleaning the garage in April.
The Daily Herald of Provo reports defense attorney Jennifer Foresta said the two sides are working on the matter. Judge Darold McDade says the case could be resolved in the hearing rescheduled for Feb. 9.
Police have alleged Huntsman was addicted to methamphetamine when she killed the six infants over the span of 10 years.
Investigators say he is the babies’ father, but he is not a suspect.
