According to news.com.au, some 22 firefighters in five emergency vehicles arrived on the scene to help with the delivery from the marble sculpture on the Tubingen University Institute of Microbiology campus. Witness Erick Guzman posted photos of the incident to Imagur, saying his friend just wanted to take a funny picture. The 13-year-old $173,000 statue, designed by Peruvian artist Fernando de la Jara, was not damaged in the incident. It’s still unclear how the student explained his position to local authorities.
