WGN News has obtained photos from the aftermath of a suburban police-involved shooting that left a 95-year-old man dead.

The photos were taken by police on the scene. They show John Wrana with his hands cuffed behind him, sitting in a chair having just been shot by five beanbag rounds.

Wrana, a World War II veteran, later died from internal bleeding.

Police say they were forced to fire at Wrana, inside a Park Forest assisted-living facility, when he refused to drop several weapons, including a knife.

Doctors originally called police when Wrana became agitated and refused medical treatment for an infection.

The Park Forest officer who pulled the trigger, Craig Taylor, pleaded not guilty to reckless conduct.
