CHICAGO --  Chicago police are questioning a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a 9-year-old Chicago boy, sources tell WGN.

The 27-year-old was questioned two weeks ago and released.  He was picked up on a gun charge in Oak Lawn on Monday, according to source.

Tyshawn Lee was shot and killed earlier this month   near 80th and Damen.  Police believe he was lured to the alley and executed.  His death made national headlines.

Chicago Police responded to WGN's request for comment with a statement saying,

While we can't comment on the specifics of the investigation, we are relentless in our pursuit of Justice for Tyshawn.

CPD will continue to use every legal resource to build the strongest prosecution possible and hold Tyshawn's killers accountable to answer for their barbaric crimes against this innocent child.
