CHICAGO — Parents at Blaine Elementary School on the city’s North Side are rallying in support of an ousted principal.

They began protesting with a sit-injust after 5 a.m. at the school located at 1420 W. Grace Street in the Lakeview community.

Parents are upset over the removal of the school’s popular and outspoken Principal Troy Lareviere.

He was removed from the school last week, during spring break.

Today is the first day back since the move, and parents organized the demonstration to show their disapproval of the change.

Lareviere has been an outspoken critic of the mayor and the school board.

He was also featured in an ad for presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders.

Another rally was held at 5:30 this evening.
