1 killed, 1 wounded in shooting at Englewood barbershop

CHICAGO — Chicago police are searching for suspects in a deadly shooting at an Englewood barbershop.

Officers say two men walked into Powells Barber Shop” at 63rd and May and opened fire around 3 p.m. Friday.

One man was killed. He’s been identified as 38-year-old Gerald Sias.  Another man was injured in the shooting.

Police believe the incident is gang-related.

The barbershop is known for being an advocate for peace through community haircut events.

The barbershop was even featured in the Spike Lee movie, “Chi-Raq.”
