SANTA ANA, Calif. -- A retired police officer in California was recently reunited with a man whom he had rescued 25 years ago from an alley.

According to KTLA Michael Buelna, then an officer in Santa Ana, Calif., responded to calls of a stabbing back in 1989 when he inadvertently found a newborn who had been abandoned in an alley near the crime scene.

Buelna picked up the baby and rushed him to a nearby paramedic for help.

The newborn was nicknamed then as "Baby Adam," KTLA reported.

In 2015 that baby is now a 25-year-old man named Robin Barton.

Barton and his adopted parents met with the officers Friday for the two's first meeting since that fateful day.
