Shots fired after man attempts to rob officer’s wife; No injuries reported

CHICAGO — An off-duty Chicago police officer intervened after a man attempted to rob the officer’s wife on the South Side Wednesday.

Police said the man attempted to rob the woman as she was getting in her car on Morgan and 107th streets in the Morgan Park neighborhood.

Police said the woman ran back to the house to get help and her husband, an off-duty officer, stepped in.

Police said the robber shot at the officer and the officer fired back.

No one was injured.

Police are searching for the man and said he drove off in a white SUV.
