A man once mistaken as a rapist was mistaken Sunday as an unregistered sex offender.

Carl Chatman was convicted in 2002 for a rape at the Daley Center.

After 11 years in prison, his conviction was overturned last month; but somehow his conviction remained in the state sex offender database.

Sunday, police in Berwyn burst into Chatman’s home, arrested him in his pajamas and held him for more than two hours.

Once Chatman’s family produced the paperwork to prove his innocence, he was released.
