Archbishop Blase Cupich announced this weekend that a cluster of northwest side Catholic schools will be named after Pope Francis.
Four current schools will be consolidated and will re-open next year to create the Pope Francis Global Academy.
The academy will be located on two campuses – one in Portage Park and the other in Gladstone Park.
Preschool through 8th grade coursework will be offered at the schools.
They will open in the fall of 2016.
