CHICAGO — The death toll from the weekend blizzard has reached 17 in Cook County.

Most of the deaths in Chicago and the suburbs were blamed on overexertion from snow shoveling.

The latest victim, 55-year-old Geraldo Delgado, was found dead on the street in the 5500 block of West Diversey on Tuesday.

His death is blamed on hypothermia from cold exposure, and chronic alcoholism.

Delgado is the most recent person to die of cold-related causes this winter.
