CHICAGO — A Cook County State’s Attorney source tells WGN that no charges will be filed in the Ronald Johnson case.
Johnson was shot and killed by a Chicago police officer in October of 2014 near 53rd and King Drive.
According to the source, the big difference between the Johnson case and McDonald case is that Johnson had a gun, which is visible in dash-cam video.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the video will be released Monday afternoon.
An attorney for Johnson’s family says the dash-cam video shows Officer George Hernandez firing five times within two seconds of getting out of his squad car.
