CHICAGO – A newspaper delivery man was delivering newspapers Sunday morning when his car was stolen in Jefferson Park while two children were inside.

The delivery man was on the 5400 block of North Lovejoy and left the car running while he was out of the vehicle. The driver’s two children, a 1-year-old and 4-year-old were in the car.

Two offenders entered the vehicle and stole it, police said. They abandoned it a few blocks away.

Brian Majewuski, who was recovering a violent fall at  work, woke up to something he never thought he’d see behind his home.

The stolen car was in the middle of the alley.

“The two front doors were open and the back doors were closed so my neighbor walked up to and saw the two kids crying. He immediately called the police because he didn’t see no one around he didn’t see the suspects take no nope no sir,” Majewuski said.

A Chicago police source said a 19-year-old man and juvenile took the car. They were both arrested shortly after they abandoned it.

The father of the two children was moving fast too. He raced to the alley to find them scared but okay.

All three were taken to the hospital but only as a precaution.

The two suspects will likely face felony charges. Both should make their first court appearance this week.
