Move over eHarmony and Match.com — there are NEW dating apps and websites in town.
The best part? They’re all free to use!
Free for iOs
This dating app only launched earlier this year, and it’s user base is exploding — a recent Mashable.com article put the app’s membership at about 20 million. I think the key to it’s huge membership is that it’s super easy to join. Simply log in via Facebook, and the app generates your online dating profile for you. Then, it uses GPS to find potential matches near you. If you like his or her photo, click the heart icon. If the person likes you back, Tinder will let you know! This app is addictive, like a game — you can just swipe through the people who don’t interest you.
Coffee Meets Bagel
Free to use dating website
This dating website just launched in Chicago in March, so it’s still relatively new but the concept is cool. Log in with Facebook to get started — you still have to fill out some of the standard dating profile as well, but at least your Facebook photos from Facebook automatically transfer over. Then, every day, you’ll get a match sent to you at noon. You have 24 hours to “like” or “pass” on this person. If the “like” is mutual, you’ll be placed in a secure SMS chat with that person. This is the perfect dating app for the person who doesn’t want to use a dating site that requires you to search for matches yourself.
At First Sight
Free for iOs, Android and online
Chris Harrison — the host of ABC’s popular dating shows The Bachelor and The Bachelorette — and series creator Mike Fleiss recently launched a new dating app called At First Sight. What sets this app apart from others is that it’s centered around video profiles. There’s also more traditional profiles, but you see your potential match’s video first. which centers around video profiles. The app also to uses algorithms to help members find the best matches for their personalities and interests, Mashable.com reports.
Free for iOs and Android
CALLING ALL LADIES: Lulu is the first-ever app for rating the men you date. It’s like Yelp, but instead of reviewing restaurants or spas, you’re reviewing guys! Lulu is totally private and anonymous. If guys want to know what their reviews are, they can download LuluDude to update their Lulu profile photos, and of course, ask that their profile be removed.
