CHICAGO — Thousands filled Navy Pier Thursday for the Fourth of July fireworks display.

About 30 minutes before the show, Navy Pier reached its crowd limit.

Around 6:30 p.m. the garages were full and visitors were encouraged to look for alternate options.

The skies stayed clear for the 15-minute show.

Many other communities held parades and fireworks displays throughout Thursday.
