4 tornadoes confirmed in Monday’s severe weather

Survey teams from National Weather Service offices in Romeoville, Lincoln and the Quad Cities are investigating Monday night’s storm damage and through late Tuesday afternoon, four tornadoes have been confirmed with more likely to be documented.

So far there have been 2 EF-1 twisters, one in Harmon in Lee County and the other in Mendota in LaSalle County.

Two EF-2 twisters have also been confirmed, on the Braidwood-Coal City area in Will and Grundy counties and in Sublette in Lee County at the Woodhaven Lakes camp grounds.

Initial damage surveys based on radar show at least seven possible tornado tracks south and west of Chicago.
