MCHENRY COUNTY, Ill. --Icy conditions Friday morning on I-90 in the Huntley area caused at least six separate accidents.
District 15 State Police say two semi-trucks jack-knifed near Route 47.
Even after they pulled onto the shoulder traffic was getting by single-file, backing up for miles.
Several cars spun out.
One State Trooper was injured when he slipped on the ice while investigating the accidents.
Sergeant Paul Carlos with the Illinois State Police says the roads were salted, but the heavy traffic and blowing snow caused a thin glaze of ice on the roadway.
No serious injuries reported.
